New Class now forming: Introduction to Independent Living with Vision Loss.
Are you or a family member new to vision loss and wondering how you or your family member can maintain independence? Vision Northwest is now hosting a new class that will focus on learning new ways to do old things, what the changes will mean for you, and how to have a full life. Tuition is $20.00 per person, or $30.00 per family for four classes. To register for these classes, call Vision Northwest at 503 684 8389. You can also send an email with your names, address, phone number, and how many people will be attending.
INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS
We can make suggestions to help you overcome barriers presented by vision loss. We can show you how to maximize your remaining vision with adaptive equipment, such as magnifiers and improved lighting. We can recommend using bump dots to mark your microwave, washing machine or oven temperature. We can tell you about products that talk to you instead of relying on your vision. We can help you get more out of watching a video. You can continue to do many of the things you did before vision loss, but you may have to learn a new way of doing them.
